Hello Visual Communicators,

Would you please send me links to your pages. A dear friend of ours decided to redesign my page and lost functionality. She has not been able to reconstruct it, so, I must make the attempt. Help!

I have to turn in grades if your pages and uploads are finalized let me know.  CH


These are your assignments

  1. Open Google Accounts- Gmail, Picasa (Picasaweb.google.com), Blogger (some are using other Blog sites)
  2. Photograph- a person you do not know, get names. They should be living their lives and you should have a caption (who,What, When Why...)
  3. Blog page- Start and upload the photograph ( this is how you will deliver your assignments (professional, portfolio.)
  4. Familiarize your self with these sites * they are loaded with tutorials and Articles.
  5. Photoshop Assignment- Do three things to a photo in Photoshop and upload to your page
  6. Phone (mobile) posting- Make two phone posts ^ per week, to VisCom S09  (or email to address^below)
  7. A picture Story, keep it simple. We will use it in a “timeline” in Final Cut (These are your photos, your story.)
  8. Read Journalism 2.0, Chapter 8- (digital Photos) and Chapter 9 (shooting Video)
  9. Read Journalism 2.0, Chapter 10 , “Basic Video Editing”
  10. View the Final cut Tutorials at <http://seminars.apple.com/seminarsonline/richmediafcp/apple/index1.html>
  11. Lay your picture story in the timeline of a Final Cut Project, (To be safe bring a storage device 5-10 gigs.)

  13. Add an audio track to your Final Cut Slideshow
14. Read video techniques at <http://multimedia.journalism.berkeley.edu/tutorials/video/shooting_tips/> it’s short
 15. Shoot video for Tuesday assignment and critique. You may work in teams, and tee up the piece before class.
16. Reading the Final Cut Tutorial at  http://multimedia.journalism.berkeley.edu/tutorials/video/ and SHOOT VIDEO
17. SHOOT VIDEO, FINAL PROJECT - BE DONE!
